Life in the Hatcher household makes 12 year old Peter feel like running away sometimes - especially as his younger brother, Fudge, gets older and becomes more of a pain… And now a new baby is coming, they are moving to a new city, Peter is leaving his best friend behind - and to top it all off, Fudge will be starting Kindergarten at the same school!! A sequel to Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing, Superfudge will delight audiences with the silly antics of siblings and the challenges of family life. Recommended for Kindergarten and up!

On Saturday, April 21, MST will hold its next Page to Stage book club meeting at the Blue Willow Bookshop at 10am. The club is meeting over the course of the season to talk about the books the MST Theater for Youth plays are based on, meet characters from the books, have a snack, make crafts, and hear a reading from the book. Children can bring their own copy of the book or purchase it at a discount at Blue Willow (located at 14532 Memorial Drive (at Dairy Ashford)). To RSVP for the book club, send an email to vstjohn@mainstreettheater.com.

Judy Blume grew up in Elizabeth, New Jersey and graduated from New York University in 1961. She has written numerous books, most of which are for children, but some of her novels are for adults. More than 75 million copies of her books have been sold. Ms. Blume lives with her husband George Cooper, who is also a writer. They have three grown children.

Says Blume, "When I began to write our babysitter, Willie Mae Bartlett, brought me an article from the newspaper about a toddler who swallowed a tiny pet turtle. This was in the late sixties, when you could still buy turtles for pets. Willie Mae thought the story might inspire me. And it certainly did! .... I wrote the book [Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing], basing the character of Fudge on my son, Larry, when he was a toddler."

Patti Bean is the Director, with Claudia Dyle is the Music Director. Luke Wright (How I Became a Pirate) plays Peter, and Cameron Bautch (The Coast of Utopia) plays Fudge. The rest of the cast includes Lindsay Ehrhardt, Katie Harrison, Jessica Knapp, and Richard Romeo.

The design team includes Ryan McGettigan (set design), Daniel Polk (lighting design), Macy Perrone (costume design), Shawn W. St. John (sound design), and Tina Montgomery (properties design). Lauren Dolk is the Choreographer. Kevin Zahradnik is the Production Stage Manager.
