Houston Grand Opera today announced the finalists for the annual Eleanor McCollum Competition for Young Singers, to be presented in the Cullen Theater on Thursday February 2, at 7:30p.m. This year’s finalists are:

Sopranos: Deanna Breiwick, Andrea Carroll, Natalya Romaniw, Jessica Strong.

Mezzo- Sopranos: Sarah Larsen, Sarah Mesko, Carolyn Sproule, Kate Wakefield

Tenors: Joshua Baum, Yi Li, Kevin Ray, Aleksey Sayapin

Baritone: Carlton Ford

Bass-Baritones: Jason Eck, Thomas Richards

Bass; Peixin Chen 

Now in its twenty-fourth year, Concert of Arias is the final round of the annual Eleanor McCollum Competition for Young Singers. Each finalist will perform two arias and compete for $30,000 in cash prizes. The purpose of the competition is to identify potential candidates for HGO Studio fellowships.
