Failure: A Love Story by Philip Dawkins will receive its regional premiere with Stages Rep, running tonight, January 22 - February 16, 2014.

Performance Times: Wednesdays & Thursdays 7:30p, Fridays & Saturdays 8:00p, Sundays 3:00p. Stages Repertory Theatre is located at 3201 Allen Parkway. Set in Chicago in 1928, this magical fable traces the lives-and untimely deaths-of the three unforgettable Fail sisters, through the eyes of the dashing young man who loves (and quickly loses) each of them in turn. Whimsical, theatrical, gleefully funny and profoundly moving, Failure intricately intertwines the mysteries of love and death to create a captivating waltz in which time truly is of the essence, hope does indeed spring eternal, and love undeniably conquers all.

Failure: A Love Story received its world premiere at Victory Gardens Theatre in 2012, and has since had productions in Philadelphia, Seattle, and at the Illinois Shakespeare Festival. The production at Stages marks the play's Texas and Regional premiere.

Playwright Philip Dawkins, a graduate of Loyola University, Chicago, is an Artistic Associate of About Face Theatre, an Ensemble Playwright at Victory Gardens, and a founding member, with artistic partner Eric C. Reda, of Chicago Opera Vanguard. Philip teaches playwriting at Northwestern University and through the Victory Gardens ACCESS Program for writers with disabilities. He also teaches Kung Fu to little, tiny children through Rising Phoenix Kung Fu.

Leslie Swackhamer returns to Stages to direct Failure: A Love Story. Her previous Stages productions include IN THE NEXT ROOM...or, the vibrator play, The Great American Trailer Park Musical, The Andrews Brothers, Rabbit Hole, Amy's View, and Man From Nebraska.
