Clear Creek Community Theatre to Present Three Comedies this Spring

Clear Creek Community Theatre (CCCT) wraps up its Golden Anniversary Season with three diverse comedies sure to please its audiences. First up, "The Dixie Swim Club" follows the annual reunion of a college swim team over the course of 33 years. At their rented beachside cottage in North Carolina, Sheree, Vernadette, Jerri Neal, Dinah, and Lexie renew their friendship and share both funny and poignant moments in their lives. This comedy-drama by Nicholas Hope, Jamie Wooten, and Jesse Jones beautifully illustrates the enduring power of "teamwork". The "Dixie Swim Club" runs March 13-29.

CCCT's second comedy, "Boeing-Boeing", is based on a classic French farce by Marc Camoletti. This show takes us back to the swinging '60s where American architect and self-proclaimed lothario, Bernard, juggles relationships with three stewardesses in his Paris apartment. His meticulous attention to their international flight schedules, which ensures he has "one up, one down, and one pending", impresses his old college chum, Robert, and exasperates his French housekeeper, Berthe. When a newer and faster Boeing jet throws off his carefully tended plans, Bernard scrambles to keep his French, German, and American "fiancées" from finding out about each other. "Boeing-Boeing" opens April 24th and runs through May 10th.

CCCT's final show of the season is "Tom Jones" adapted by David Rogers from the novel by Henry Fielding. Set in 18th century England, a boisterous yet good-natured Tom falls madly in love with Sophia Western who recently returned to their village after living abroad. Sophia's father struggles to keep Tom and Sophia apart as has arranged for her marriage to the nephew of the wealthy Squire Allworthy. The two young lovers escape and meet a variety of strange characters on their madcap travels to London. "Tom Jones" runs May 29th through June 14th.
