October is National Anti-Bullying Month and A. D. Players is proud to partner with Holocaust Museum Houston and YMCA Houston to raise awareness of this growing problem in schools and society through A. D. Players' current play, THE BULLY SHOW! by Brian Guehring.

THE BULLY SHOW! challenges students, parents, and teachers to reconsider their assumptions about bullies, victims, and bystanders. Audience members become the contestants in a new game show, "You Wanna Be a Bully?," where they help identify the different forms of bullying and what to do about it. THE BULLY SHOW! premiered at the Omaha Theater Company where it toured to area schools. A. D. Players is offering performances of the show at their Grace Theater location, and also touring to local schools.

Partnering with A. D. Players, are the Holocaust Museum Houston and YMCA Houston. The Holocaust Museum Houston has created the "All Behaviors Count" program for teachers to help identify and deal with the behaviors that lead to bullying and worse behaviors. A docent from the Museum will be on hand at select Saturday performances (10/19 at 10:30am, 10/26 at 1:00pm, 11/2 at 1:00pm, and 11/9 at 1:00pm) as an additional resources for parents and teachers seeking to get a handle on the important issues surrounding bullying.

YMCA Houston will be offering a selection from THE BULLY SHOW! for their after school programs at the Trotter Family YMCA, Weekly Family YMCA, and MD Anderson YMCA. Additionally, adults can find more information on bullying on their blog and in their member newsletter this month.

"We have a unique opportunity to shed light on the important social issue of bullying with THE BULLY SHOW!, and I am proud to have such important community partners helping to spread the word,' said Kevin Dean, A. D. Players' Director of Children's Theater, "Together we can stop bullying."

THE BULLY SHOW! runs through November 9th at A. D. Players Grace Theater, 2710 W. Alabama. Tickets may be purchased online at www.adplayers.org, at the A. D. Players Box Office, or by calling 713-526-2721.
