Market House Theatre’s youth arts education programming focuses on the performing arts areas of theatre and dance, both used for outreach in regional schools and on its campus. At present, the DanceMHT studio relies on a basic Bluetooth speaker to provide music during classes. Unfortunately, this setup falls short in delivering the sound quality necessary for optimal instruction (and enjoyment.) The music blasts from one end of the room, creating an uneven sound experience. Those closest to the speaker are overwhelmed by the volume, when the students further away can hear the beat and the tempo. This inconsistent sound environment affects the overall experience of the class and hinders students’ ability to fully immerse themselves in the dance. Not to mention, it takes away class time when instructors have to stop class to reconnect the signal. Market House Theatre seeks to raise $4,000 on Giving Tuesday to install a professional sound system that will evenly distribute music throughout our larger studio. This upgrade will not only eliminate the need to blast sound from one location, but will also allow instructors to control and adjust the volume to meet the needs of every class. A professional setup will enhance the learning environment by creating a comfortable and immersive space where students can focus on technique, rhythm, and expression without sound-related distractions.
Dedicated to enriching the cultural landscape of Paducah, Market House Theatre has been at the forefront of promoting artistic creativity and providing a platform for the performing arts. The mission is to develop and share the creative potential of the people of our region through theatre and the performing arts
