The performing arts are under threat in the United States with theatres across the country combatting record low income levels in 2024. From coast to coast, theatres are going dark and the shows that must go on... aren't... which is why IF Theatre is raising funds by hosting THE SHOW THAT WON'T GO ON this Giving Tuesday.

This is NOT an event or a performance. THE SHOW THAT WON'T GO ON is an online fundraising campaign that honors the spirit of creative risk at a time when the arts are under fire.

Your contribution of the value of a single ticket can make a monumental impact in support of financially sustainable arts in Indianapolis.

  • Did you know that the city of Indianapolis invests just $2.6M in the arts every year and sees an annual economic impact of more than $520M?
    • This means that your investment in the arts is direct investment in the financial and cultural health of our city.
  • Did you know that there are more than 50 performance troupes in the city without a brick and mortar home of their own? We know because IF Theatre has collaborated with more than 53 of them since 2020.

This Giving Tuesday, Support IF Theatre by donating to THE SHOW THAT WON'T GO ON so that shows like theirs... can.

DONATE THE VALUE OF YOUR EVENING OUT AND ENJOY A COZY CASUAL NIGHT IN AT HOME INSTEAD!

  • $25 - The value of a single ticket - The average cost of a ticket for a musical, play, or concert in Indiana is $65, but our average ticket price is $17 including Fees. Your contribution helps keep ticket costs low!
    • Consider an additional $7 donation for a “cocktail” - each $7 contribution is the value of some essential supplies for the building (hand soap, printer paper, recycling bin liners, etc.)
  • $75 - Tickets for you and your family - This year, IF Theatre is investing in more family-friendly performances and educational programming, making sure that IF Theatre is a place for all kinds of audience members all year long. Your $75 contribution helps us ensure that we’re sourcing the best possible educators for our programs.
  • $150 - Dinner & a Show - Your contribution of $150 helps us ensure that our artists are receiving quality staff support and trained volunteers to make the experience of attending a show at IF Theatre the best it can possibly be.

Founded in 2005 as the IndyFringe Theatre Festival, IF Theatre has grown beyond the initial festival to a thriving, year-round theatre organization that works to develop artists of all levels, training and connecting actors, designers, directors, and audiences.

As Indianapolis’ preeminent arts incubator, IF Theatre supports artists by providing resources for their work year-round. From our vibrant IndyFringe Festival in August, to shows, classes and new theatre productions at our beautiful campus at 719 E. St. Clair Street. The IF Theatre building is home to three distinct venues, perfect for a wide range of artistic performances and corporate events.

In addition to our welcoming spaces, we also offer performers:

  • Technical advisement and personnel
  • Ticket sales management and customer service representatives
  • Marketing expertise
  • A collaborative environment
  • And more!
