We are in the final push of fundraising for our 2026 season, and with just a few weeks left to go before Giving Tuesday, we are asking for your help! Our 2026 season is slated to be our biggest season yet with our first guest director, producing the whip-smart piece, WHITE (James iJames), our exciting New-Works program, Historically Close Friends, aimed to bring a new works showcase and a local playwright residency, the return of our sold-out variety shows, as well as our biggest musical yet, FALSETTOS (William Finn). With your help, this will also be the year that the staff of Between The Willows can shift into a full-time working situation. This is our most ambitious goal, but we know that through the kindness, and trust that this community has shown, we can make the dream come true. We can't wait to bring you everything we have to offer!

Between The Willows is a queer-owned-and-operated theater located in the heart of Burlington, Vermont. The mission: to uplift queer voices through theater and dance; and to provide paid opportunities for theater makers in central Vermont. We work to tell queer stories from all walks of life, and generally stories that don't necessarily revolve around the fact that they're queer. We've all seen those plays... You know the ones. Where their whole life could've been so much better were they not queer, or something in that vain. While this stories can be important, the general tone is that our queerness is novelty, and not just a part of us. Well, at Between The Willows, we are committed to normalizing queerness in the world. Engaging audiences that may not have had extensive interactions with queer folks in their past, and bringing them queer stories; as well as uplifting our own queer community at large. We have been operating since 2023, and began with New Works. We are passionate about supporting our local artists: actors, directors, designers, craftspeople, painters, graphic designers: everyone. We believe in the power of building and strengthening our community in all aspects. We can't wait to see you at our upcoming shows!
