CATS Leaps Into Frankfurt On August 23

CATS will perform at the Alte Oper in Frankfurt, Germany August 23 through the 27. This is one of five stops in Germany, which includes Berlin (August 9-19), Baden-Baden (August 29-September 3), Bremen (September 5-10), and Duisburg (September 12-17). CATS is based on T.S. Eliot's "Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats" and was the winner of seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical, and Best Original Score.

CATS features a number of well known musical numbers, including "Memory," "The Jellicle Ball," and "Macavity." The show follows a tribe of cats as they prepare for the Jellicle Ball, and decide which among them will be reborn.

The cast stars Robin Lake as Alonzo, Aaron Hunt as Bill Bailey, Charlie Johnson as Bombalurina, Enric Marimon as Carbucketty, Natalie Bennyworth as Cassandra, Fletcher Dobinson as Coricopat, Agnes Pure as Demeter, Joanna Ampil as Grizabella, Tony McGill as Gus, Charlotte Scott as Jellylorum, Grace Swaby as Jemima, Joanna Lee Martin as Jennyanydots, Jak Allen-Anderson as Macavity/Admetus, Joe Henry as Mungojerrie, Matt Krzan as Munkustrap, John Ellis as Old Deuteronomy, Robbie McMillan as Quaxo/Mistoffelees, John Brannoch as Rum Tum Tugger, Meg Astin as Rumpleteazer, Lee Greenaway as Skimbleshanks, Eilish Harmon-Beglan as Tantomile, Sophia Mcavoy as Victoria/White Cat.

The cast is rounded out by Alice Cornwell (swing), Alexandra Girard (swing), Nathan Johnson (swing), Nell Martin (swing), Dane Quixall (swing), and Jordan Castle (walking understudy).

The show features a book, music, and orchestrations by Andrew Lloyd Webber and poems by T.S. Eliot. It is directed by Trevor Nunn, choreographed by Gillian Lynne, and designed by John Napier.
