One Life To Live daytime drama actors, and real life husband and wife team, Jim (Max) and Kassie (Blair) DePaiva will star in TheatreZone's season finale, the Broadway musical "110 In The Shade." The production is based on N. Richard Nash's 1954 play "The Rainmaker," an all-American love story about a con man who brings sweet relief to the parched life of a small-town virgin.

Most notable for her role as Bobby Jo in the cult film, Evil Dead II, actress Kassie DePaiva began her career at 18 as a solo artist at the Grand Ole Opry. After her stint in Nashville, she attended both Indiana University and UCLA, studying theatre but dropping out before graduation to entertain USO troops in Asia. Kassie made her debut in daytime originating the role of Chelsea Reardon on "Guiding Light" (October 1986-January 1991). She began portraying her most notable role, the part of Blair Cramer on "One Life to Live" in 1993. She married her co-star James DePaiva and continued with OLTL for 17 years. In 2912, he briefly reprised her role of Blair on ABC's daytime soap "General Hospital."

When he was 15 years old, James, the son of a musician, began his own professional music career playing the electric bass. A native Californian, he played punk rock, Latin rock and country-western in a number of bands and studied fencing, ballet and jazz dance at a nearby community college. But he was fascinated by the theater and acted in local productions. After eight years of performing as a professional musician, he decided to follow his first love, acting. He acquired an agent and moved to Los Angeles. James studied acting in Los Angeles with Stella Adler, among other teachers. Soon he appeared on ABC's "General Hospital" in a recurring role of a waiter. Before long, James successfully auditioned for the role of Max Holden on OLTL. Although he left this role in 2007, he's stayed busy with plays like "Nightmare Ally" and "Tricky Wicked Bitch." TheatreZone fans will remember his portrayal of the suave Charles in Noel Coward's "High Spirits."

"It might sound odd, but filming a soap is closer to acting in a play than filming episodic television," says Kassie, noting that soap sets resemble classic stage sets. "I'm thrilled to join the TheatreZone family and look forward to working with my husband in a lost treasure of Broadway," she adds.

110 in the Shade performs May 2, 3, 4, 9, 10 and 11 @ 8 pm and Sundays, May 5 and 12 at 2 pm and 7:30 pm. The production is title sponsored by The Village on Venetian Bay Shopping Center.
