The News Sentinel reports that the Clyde Theater has completed its five million dollar renovation, and is ready to begin its new life as a concert hall and special events venue!
Built in 1951, the Clyde Theatre began as a movie theatre, and it continued to show movies until its eventual closing in 1993. After standing vacant for nearly twenty years, and falling into a state of disrepair, the theatre was purchased by Rick Kinney in 2012. Six years and five million dollars worth of renovations later, the theatre will host its first concert in May. Artists and shows already scheduled to perform at the venue include Stone Sour, An Evening with Ghost, Fitz & The Tantrums, Badfish - A Tribute to Sublime, Chase Rice (pictured above left), ZOSO: The Ultimate Led Zeppelin Experience, George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic, and Who's Bad: The Ultimate Michael Jackson Experience.
The theatre's main performance hall is 21,000 square feet, and can accomadate up to 2,200 people.
