The Fort Wayne Civic Theatre announce their 2018-2019 Season!

Season tickets are on sale now for the 2018-2019 Fort Wayne Civic Theatre Season:

Disney's Newsies presented at the Arts United Center

Weekends, July 28-August 12, 2018

Set in New York City at the turn of the 20th century, Newsies is the rousing tale of Jack Kelly, a charismatic newsboy and leader of a ragged band of teenaged "newsies," who dreams only of a better life far from the hardship of the streets. But, when publishing titans Joseph Pulitzer and William Randolph Hearst raise distribution prices at the newsboys' expense, Jack finds a cause to fight for and rallies newsies from across the city to strike for what's right. High-energy with non-stop thrills, the stage version introduces eight brand-new songs by the original team of Menken and Feldman, while keeping many of the beloved songs from the film, including "Carrying the Banner," "Seize the Day," "King of New York" and "Santa Fe."

Rock of Ages presented at the Arts United Center

Weekends, September 14-23, 2018

It's the tail-end of the big, bad 1980s in Hollywood, and the party has been raging hard. Aqua Net, Lycra, lace and liquor flow freely at one of the Sunset Strip's last legendary venues, a place where rock and roll sex god Stacee Jaxx takes the stage and scantily clad groupies line up to turn their fantasies into reality. Amidst the madness, aspiring rock star (and resident toilet cleaner) Drew longs to take the stage as the next big thing. Small-town girl Sherri, fresh off the bus from Kansas, arrives with stars in her eyes too. A sweet romance begins, but the rock and roll fairy tale is about to end when German developers sweep into town with plans to turn the fabled Strip into just another capitalist strip mall. Can Drew, Sherri, and the gang save the Strip before it's too late? Only the music of hit bands Styx, Journey, Bon Jovi, Whitesnake and more holds the answer.

Elf, The Musical presented at the Arts United Center

Weekends, November 3-18, 2018

Buddy, a young orphan, mistakenly crawls into Santa's bag of gifts and is transported to the North Pole. The would-be elf is raised, unaware that he is actually a human, until his enormous size and poor toy-making abilities force him to face the truth. With Santa's blessing, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father and discover his true identity. Faced with the harsh realities that his father is on the naughty list and his half-brother doesn't even believe in Santa, Buddy is determined to win over his new family and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas. This modern day holiday classic is sure to make everyone embrace their inner elf. After all, the best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear.

The Wedding Gift presented at the Arts United Center

Weekends, February 16-24, 2019

In the more innocent era of the early 1950's, Arthur and Cynthia Ferguson and their daughter, Flossie, are scam artists who move briefly from city to city targeting wealthy bachelors. It's a happy heist that takes them into the best homes and elegant country clubs. When their current scam runs amok it results in surprises, laughs, and a very unusual wedding gift.

Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, presented at the Parkview Physicians Group ArtsLab

Weekends, March 15-31, 2019

Middle-aged siblings Vanya and Sonia share a home in Bucks County, PA, where they bicker and complain about the circumstances of their lives. Suddenly, their movie-star sister, Masha, swoops in with her new boy toy, Spike. Old resentments flare up, eventually leading to threats to sell the house. Also on the scene are sassy maid Cassandra, who can predict the future, and a lovely young aspiring actress named Nina, whose prettiness somewhat worries the aging Masha.

Winner of the 2013 Tony Award for Best Play.
