The 2021 Tampere Theatre Festival Will Be Especially Dedicated to Finnish Theatre
The 2021 Tampere Theatre Festival is scheduled for 2–8 August.
Preparations for the 52nd edition of the Tampere Theatre Festival are in full swing. The 2021 Tampere Theatre Festival is scheduled for 2-8 August.
The biggest change this year is that the Festival takes place mainly national. The Main Programme features 13 Finnish productions with one international addition. Imitation of Life by Proton Theatre (Hungary) visits digitally and the performance will be streamed live from Budapest to Tampere Hall Main Auditorium. All Finnish entries in the Main Programme will be performed live on stage in Tampere with possible restrictions on audience sizes.
Due to the COVID-19 situation inviting international guest to join Tampere Theatre Festival this year is extremely challenging, in fact almost impossible: travelling to and from Finland is still strongly restricted.
