The world-renowned Savonlinna Opera Festival is set to enchant audiences once again in 2025, staged within the dramatic setting of Olavinlinna—the world’s northernmost medieval castle—celebrating its 550th anniversary this year.

Hallmarked by a compelling blend of timeless operatic masterpieces and treasured Finnish repertoire, the festival stands as one of Europe’s premier cultural experiences. The 2025 season features Verdi’s stirring Macbeth, Puccini’s iconic Turandot, Mussorgsky’s profound Boris Godunov, Finland’s own classic The Last Temptations, and Purcell’s baroque gem The Fairy Queen.

Macbeth: July 4 – 15, 2025

Turandot: July 5 – 25, 2025

Boris Godunov: July 11 – 24, 2025
