$17.00/hour (NYC minimum wage); no housing
Playwrights Horizons' Theatrical Fellowship Program offers full-time seasonal fellowships in New York, including a Stage Management Fellowship running roughly August 2026 through July 2027 in which the fellow tracks props, blocking, scheduling and script changes in rehearsal and serves on the backstage crew during tech and performances. Fellows are paid minimum wage ($17 per hour), receive unlimited MetroCards, attend a seminar series with industry professionals and complete a capstone project. Applications for 2026/27 closed March 30, 2026, with interviews in late April to mid May and offers in late May.
Two fellows per season act as production assistants to AEA SM/ASM teams and serve on backstage crew; geared to those finished with undergraduate training (degree not required). Work authorization and SSN required for payroll.
