Overview
The New Georges Jam is one of the development pathways in New Georges' Artist Platform, a set of low-pressure, workspace-centered programs for adventurous women and trans/nonbinary theater artists in New York City. The Jam is an informal generative gathering where affiliated artists experiment with new ideas in the company's permanent workspace, The Room, alongside programs such as the Audrey Residencies for play development and Supported Productions. Artists join by submitting a short Google Form; the company emphasizes getting up from the table and discovering work in three dimensions.
Eligibility
Early- to mid-career playwrights, directors, composers, designers, choreographers, interdisciplinary/generative artists who are women (cis and trans), nonbinary, or identify with New Georges' community; NYC-based.
Notes
New Georges also runs the Audrey Residencies (play development) and Supported Productions.
