$25,000 + development resources
The McKnight Theater Artist Fellowships, administered by Playwrights' Center with funding from the McKnight Foundation, award $25,000 to mid-career Minnesota theater artists other than playwrights, including actors, directors, dramaturgs, stage managers and designers (including puppetry). Applicants must have been continuous Minnesota residents since March 2025, and selection rests on commitment to theater, professional achievement and a sustained body of work assessed by a five-member panel; the 2026-27 deadline was March 26, 2026 and the program is not currently accepting applications. It is one of the few US fellowships that funds actors directly as individual artists.
