The Playwrights' Center Jerome Fellowship supports early-career playwrights with extraordinary potential who commit to a two-year professional development residency in Minnesota. Fellows are classified as part-time employees with a $25,000 annual salary and benefits including health insurance, receive $3,000 per year for customized play-development workshops, and work closely with the Center's artistic staff to develop plays and connect with producers. Applicants may not have had more than two professional productions, must spend the fellowship term in Minnesota, and become Affiliated Writers afterward; the program is funded by the Jerome Foundation and applications for the 2027-29 cycle open in fall 2026.
