Milwaukee Rep's Emerging Professional Residency is a season-long apprenticeship program that places acting residents in understudy and ensemble roles across Rep productions while they take part in workshops, auditions for Wisconsin theaters, and one-on-one mentorship from artistic staff. Residents receive a weekly untaxed stipend, private-bedroom shared housing, transportation, a $200 relocation stipend, professional development workshops and a gym pass; directing, education and arts management residencies are also offered. Application details for the 2027/28 season are expected in fall 2026 and have previously required a resume, headshot, cover letter, recommendation and self-tape.
Recent graduates to early-career actors; must submit self-tape with 2 contemporary monologues, 1 song, 1 dance reel, letter of recommendation, cover letter. Residents understudy and play ensemble roles incl. A Christmas Carol.
