Edith Lutyens & Norman Bel Geddes Design Enhancement Fund

The Edith Lutyens and Norman Bel Geddes Design Enhancement Fund, administered by A.R.T./New York, gives grants of up to $10,000 to New York City nonprofit theatre companies to realize one specific design element (set, lighting, sound, costume, video, puppetry, props or multimedia) in a production. Applicants must be A.R.T./New York organizational members with annual non-capital expenses under $5 million; individual designers cannot apply, but the designer is named in the application and may be contacted by the panel. The FY26 cycle opened March 25, 2025 with an April 29 deadline and July disbursement.

Applicant must be a NYC-based theatre company/collective (not an individual designer) producing for at least two years with annual expenses under $5M and an A.R.T./New York Organizational Member in good standing. Funds materials, labor, equipment; may not increase designer fees. Prior-year recipients must skip a year.
