Overview
The Baryshnikov Arts Center Residency Program offers performing artists in dance, music, theater and multimedia one or two weeks of exclusive studio space in Manhattan (up to 48 hours per week), a $2,000 stipend, an optional invited work-in-progress showing, and professional video and photo documentation. Applicants must be at least 22, not enrolled in school, and may come from anywhere, though travel and housing are their own responsibility. Applications for 2027 residencies are open August 31 to October 2, 2026 with decisions by December 19; an invitation-only Artist Labs program supports alumni projects further.

Age 22+; not enrolled in school; open geographically but travel/housing at artist's expense; performing artists in any combination of disciplines.
Notes
Up to ~20 residencies per year; 2026 residents include theatre makers Tina Satter/Half Straddle and actor-writer Reynaldo Piniella. Artist Labs by invitation for alumni.
