The award-winning WFHS Theatre program continues its reputation of stellar song and dance with the musical comedy classic, SWEET CHARITY. This razzle-dazzle tale of optimism through adversity explodes onto the West Fargo High School stage for six performances, tonight, February 14, 15, 21, & 22 at 7:30pm and February 16 & 23 at 2:30pm.

Funny and poignant, SWEET CHARITY follows the (mis)adventures of the plucky and guileless Charity Hope Valentine, a Times Square dime-a-dance gal who seems to always give her heart and dreams to the wrong people. Throughout her personal trials and tribulations, Charity emerges unscathed while remaining determined to find love and happiness in swinging 1960s New York City.

SWEET CHARITY features a hilarious script by Neil Simon and a lively score by Cy Coleman and Dorothy Fields which includes musical theatre favorites such as "Hey, Big Spender," "If My Friends Could See Me Now," and "The Rhythm of Life." Since premiering in 1966, SWEET CHARITY has been seen three times on both Broadway and in London's West End, amassing 17 Tony Award nominations and six wins along the way. A 1969 feature film starring Shirley MacLaine, Ricardo Montalban, and Sammy Davis, Jr. was helmed by the musical's original director and choreographer, Bob Fosse.

SWEET CHARITY features a company of nearly 100 young artists in its cast, crew and pit orchestra under the direction of a team of teachers and professionals lead by head director, Adam Pankow. Essentia Health proudly sponsors this WFHS Theatre production.

Tickets can be purchased online at www.WestFargoTheatre.com starting Thursday, February 6th or by calling 701- 499-1971 beginning Monday, February 10th from 4-6pm. Reserved seating will also be available at the WFHS Theatre Box Office one hour prior to all performances. Seats are priced $8.00 for adults and $6.00 for students.
