The Fargo-Moordhead Community Theatre has posted auditions for three upcoming shows.

Auditions for LEND ME A TENOR will be held February 13th and 15th at 7pm. The show is directed by David and Shanara Lassig and runs April 8th - 17th.

"Set in 1934, the farce revolves around renowned tenor Tito Merelli, known to his fans as "Il Stupendo," who is scheduled to sing the lead in Otello, produced as a gala fundraiser for the Cleveland Opera Company. Unfortunately, even before the star leaves his hotel room, everything begins to unravel. Chaos ensues when Merelli's wife, who has mistaken an autograph-seeker hidden in his closet for a secret lover, leaves him a "Dear John" letter. The distraught Merelli accidentally is given a double dose of Tranquilizers to calm him and passes out. Saunders, the company's General Manager, is determined the show must go on (for his own financial sake), so he asks his assistant Max to impersonate the opera star. Max puts on the blackface makeup required for the role of Otello, and his disguise succeeds admirably--until Merelli, also in blackface, wakes up and heads for the stage. What follows is a chain-reaction of mistaken identity, plot twists, double entendres, innuendoes, and constant entrances and exits through many doors."

Auditions for SIDE BY SIDE by Sondheim will be held March 27th and 28th at 7pm. The show is directed by Scott M. Brusven and runs May 19th - 22nd.

"The sophistication, wit, insight, heart and genius of Broadway's most innovative and influential artist is at the center of this tribute to composer-lyricist Stephen Sondheim. This dazzling array of some of Sondheim's best-known songs features numbers from landmark shows that revolutionized the musical theatre with their masterful craft and astounding creativity: Company, Follies, A Little Night Music, A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum, Anyone Can Whistle and Pacific Overtures, not to mention the classics written with musical theatre giants Leonard Bernstein (West Side Story), Jule Styne(Gypsy), and Richard Rodgers (Do I Hear A Waltz?)."

Auditions for DISNEY'S ALADDIN KIDS! will be held May 22nd, 23rd, and 24th at 6pm.

"Welcome to the marketplace of Agrabah, where we're about to being the fantastic tale of the street rat who became a prince!  This stage adaptation of the Disney film, specifically for younger performers, features hit songs including "Friend Like Me," "Prince Ali," and "A Whole New World".  Aladdin, Jasmine, Jafar, Iago and the Genie battle for power and possession of the lamp.  Get your magic carpet and get ready for this enchanting theatrical ride."
