Actors and Singers for remaining titles in TheatreWorks 2016/2017 Season of dramas, musicals, comedies and premiere, as well as projects in our New Works Initiative and Education programs Season includes CALLIGRAPHY by Velina Hasu Houston and RAGS by Charles Strouse, Stephen Schwartz and Joseph Stein.
PREPARATION
Total of 3 minutes: Either one song and one monologue, or two monologues. Bring sheet music in the key you plan to sing, headshot and resume.

Noriko Matsuda Jameson, Female, late 60’s, Japanese, Expatriate caught between countries and cultures and the Real and the Surreal, gentle, poetic
Eamon Jameson, Male, 30’s, African-American, Essence. Hopeful, altruistic. Noriko’s husband in flashback, and other characters in present.
Sayuri Matsuda, Female, early 40’s, Japanese, Quirky, chaotic, adventurous. Hiromi’s cousin. Natsuko Matsuda, Female, late 60’s, Japanese, Emboldened, independent, hungry. Noriko’s sister.

Rebecca Hershkowitz (30s, Female, soprano) a recent Jewish immigrant to America from Eastern Europe. Brave and loving.
David Hershkowitz (10 years old, her son) Cheerfully enters into the adventure of their new life.
Saul (30s, high bari) An American union organizer in love with Rebecca, Jewish. Smart, fired-up, aching to make a difference.
Bella Cohen (17, female, mezzo belter) A recent Jewish immigrant from Eastern Europe, works at the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory. Caught between two worlds.
Avram Cohen (40-50, male) Bella's father, trying to hold onto his traditional ways.
Nathan Hershkowitz (40, male, baritone) Rebecca’s husband, Jewish, assimilated quickly to American Tammany politics.
Ben Levitowitz (20s, male, tenor) in love with Bella, Jewish. Young and enthusiastic
