UNDERSTUDY. Female (cis, transgender, or nonbinary), 40s – 50s. Wise, kind, and strong. Excellent singer. Powerful chest and head voice – Mezzo or Soprano (B-A-flat).

[BARONESS ELSA SCHRAEDER] Female (cis, transgender, or nonbinary), mid 30s – early 40s. A wealthy widow, she is sophisticated, charming, and clever. Legit-Mezzo range (A to E below high C).

[LOUISA VON TRAPP] Female (cis, transgender, or nonbinary), 13. Initially mischievous, she eventually softens to Maria. Excellent singer.

[KURT VON TRAPP] Male (cis, transgender, or nonbinary), 11. Unchanged voice. Inquisitive and adorable. He longs for love and attention from his father. Excellent singer. Boy Soprano with a high G.

[BRIGITTA VON TRAPP] Female (cis, transgender, or nonbinary), 10. Intelligent, independent, bookish, and thoughtful. She is always honest and is not afraid to speak her mind. Excellent singer.

[MARTA VON TRAPP] Female (cis, transgender, or nonbinary), 8. Sweet and gentle. Excellent singer.
