Equity actors for roles in THE PANIC DEFENSE.
NOTE: Transgender, nonbinary, and cisgender actresses are encouraged to submit.
ROLES
MAXINE - African-American female, age range 18-28; character is transgender. MAXINE is a sex worker who dreams of becoming a certified cosmetologist. Charismatic, resilient, funny, and emotionally open.
MIKE - Lead: Male, 30s–40s. Caucasian. A kind-hearted, divorced father and truck driver struggling with alcohol addiction. Bisexual. Vulnerable, grounded, and emotionally complex.
MALE 1: PROSECUTOR/JAMES (a Perpetrator) - African American. (30s-40s) Doubles two roles. Possesses range, emotional control, and the ability to portray difficult material without caricature.
