THE BABYSITTERS CLUB MUSICAL
SYNOPSIS: Twelve years after the disbanding of The Baby-sitters Club, the founding members - Kristy, Mary Anne, Claudia and Stacey - return to Stoneybrook, CT to honor the pact their 13-year-old selves made to reunite. Now twenty-five, the young women realize over the course of the show that the reunion not only presents an opportunity to revisit defining moments of their past, but to answer critical questions that have surfaced in their present-day lives: questions of identity, career, relationships and fulfillment.
The four women relive their time in the BSC and rediscover the invaluable friendships that guided them throughout. This multigenerational show is appealing to tweens and teens, nostalgic millennials, and anyone else who longs for days spent with friends when worries weren't too worrisome.
All auditioning actors must be over the age of 18.

SEEKING:
Kristy (past and present): Female, any ethnicity. Ages: 13 and 25 years old. Strong and unique pop/folk singer (think Indigo Girls). At 13, she is the president and founder of The Babysitters Club. The second youngest with three brothers and a single mom, Kristy is a natural leader: resourceful, creative, practical, bossy and forthcoming with her opinions. She favors jeans, turtlenecks, sweaters and baseball caps over make-up and dresses. She is confused by her more boy crazy friends Claudia and Stacey, but is nevertheless fiercely loyal and loving. Her best friend since childhood is Mary Anne, who lives across the street. At 25, Kristy is struggling with being a 'follower' instead of a leader. Patience eludes her as she continues to introduce new ideas into her workplace, only to find them either ignored or shut down. She wonders if the Babysitters Club was the best thing she ever did, and that worries her.
Mary Anne (past and present): Female, any ethnicity. Ages: 13 and 25 years old. Strong and unique pop/folk singer (think Indigo Girls). At 13, Mary Anne is a rule follower. On the shy side, she follows strict guidelines put in place by her father - a widower since Mary Anne was a baby. Her fashion and personal style still live more in little girl world than teenager world, though she wishes she could branch out a bit. She is an excellent student, very organized, conflict-averse, and very shy around boys. This becomes an issue when new student Logan turns his attention on her, as her interest in romance conflicts with her social awkwardness. At 25, Mary Anne is in grad school to become a teacher, but is distracted by the re-emergence of Logan as a potential boyfriend again. She worries that getting back together with Logan means she hasn't really grown up.
Claudia (past and present): Female, Japanese American. Ages: 13 and 25 years old. Strong and unique pop/folk singer (think Indigo Girls). Claudia is the free spirit of the BSC. Artistic, creative, a little mischievous and committed to a distinctive personal style, Claudia is unapologetically herself. Despite being a brilliant visual artist, she is a terrible student - an uncomfortable reality for her parents and (genius) older sister Janine to reconcile. Only one family member - Claudia's grandmother, Mimi - sees and accepts Claudia for who she really is, and as a result, their bond is quite special. Claudia loves junk food, mystery novels and boys. At 25, Claudia is working for a graphic design firm in New York City and despite doing well there, feels dissatisfied. She has not picked up a paint brush in over a year and feels that a huge part of her is slipping away.
Stacey (past/present): [CAST] Female, any ethnicity. Ages: 13 and 25 years old. Strong and unique pop/folk singer (think Indigo Girls). Stacey grew up in New York City, and moved to Stoneybrook at the beginning of seventh grade. She gets attention for her looks, her height (not a casting deal breaker) and her big city sophistication. As the 'new girl', she concealed her Diabetes due to the fact that her diagnosis had been met with scorn and derision by her New York friends. But her BSC friends carry no judgment towards her illness and she finds their acceptance refreshing. Stacey is good at math, loves boys and shopping and has a tendency to shapeshift around different friends and friend groups in order to fit in. At 25, this shape-shifting is exacting a toll at her job in NYC, where mean girls and a toxic boss make working for a high-end beauty line incredibly stressful. It's her dream career in her favorite city, but—as much as she tries to conform to the ugly work culture—it doesn't feel good.
4 Ensemble Members (FE1, FE2, ME1, ME2): These four must shape-shift into parents, classmates, boyfriends, siblings, teachers, grandparents, bosses, co-workers, etc. A diverse, comedic, flexible group of characters who show dexterity both physically and vocally. Strong pop/rock vocalists. Roles include:

ME1 (Logan & others): Male, any ethnicity. A variety of characters including: Logan - Mary Anne's Boyfriend, Waiter 2 / Security Guard.
ME2 (Watson & others): [CAST] Male, any ethnicity. A variety of characters including: Watson - Kristy's stepfather, Husband in Couple, Barista, Mr. Spier - Mary Anne's Dad, Waiter 1 at the Plaza.
