(2) CANDICE – (Female-identifying character, mid 20s, white). Loquacious, intellectually curious, and uncensored in her ideas. Can be misinterpreted as insensitive but is likely unaware. Emotionally free and open. Student and Assistant to Sandra.

LUANNE/JADE: (Doubled Role)

SEEKING

SEYMOUR KRELBORN – (Male-identifying character, mid-20s - 30s, any ethnicity) - An insecure put upon florist’s clerk and menial laborer at Mushnik’s Flower Shop. He is a genuine, well-meaning man who is taken for granted because of his deep insecurities. Comedic, in addition to a certain tragically adorable quality.

AUDREY – (Female-identifying character, mid-20s - mid 30s, any ethnicity) - The street smart, secret love of Seymour’s life. She has poor self-worth and education, and a sweet and vulnerable demeanor. Excellent voice (and unique) with nuanced comedy chops.

CRYSTAL, RONNETTE, and CHIFFON – (Female-identifying characters, 20 - mid-30s, any ethnicity) - AKA: the URCHINS. Three street urchins who function as participants in the action and a Greek Chorus outside it. They are young, hip, smart, and the only people in the whole cast who really know what's going on. In their Greek Chorus capacity, they occasionally sing to the audience directly. And when they do, it's often with a secret-smile that says we know something you don't know. Excellent singers with strong knowledge of doo-wop/R&B who move (or dance) well.

THE PLANT (AUDREY II) – (Anthropomorphic, any age, any ethnicity) - A cross between a Venus flytrap and an avocado. A manipulative, charismatic, alien being with a monumentally single objective of world domination. Excellent voice and strong mover (or dancer). An all-around vivid, captivating energy.

ORIN SCRIVELLO, D.D.S – (Male-identifying character, 30s - late 40s, any ethnicity) - Audrey’s boyfriend. An egotistical, maniacal, motorcycle-riding, dark, handsome dentist with a passion for leather and abusive, dominant, and sadistic tendencies. Strong comedic chops (that can border on absurd) with strong vocals and physicality.
