AVAILABLE ROLE. Mid 20s – early 30s. Dazzling, self-possessed 1940s jazz singer, with an incredible voice. Beautiful and fascinating. Must sing extremely well. Mix/belt.
Warren:
AVAILABLE ROLE. Late 20s – mid 30s. David’s handsome boyfriend. Nearly perfect, straight-arrow lawyer. Must sing well. Baritone/tenor.
The following roles have been cast (i.e. offers accepted; no auditions were held for these roles). Auditioning performers will be considered as possible replacements, should any become necessary, and for understudy positions.
Mark Bruckner:
CAST (Harry Connick, Jr.). 30s-40s. Dashing psychiatrist and professor who ends up treating David. Still in love with his deceased wife.
David Gamble:
CAST. Late 20s – early 30s. Quirky young florist’s assistant. Can’t commit to his perfect boyfriend Warren.
Muriel:
CAST. Late 20s – early 30s. David’s funny, boisterous and supportive best friend.
Sharone:
CAST. Late 30s – early 40s. Mark’s colleague and close friend. Warm and caring.
Anton / Kravis / Wesley:
CAST. 50s-60s. Anton: Owner of the flower shop in which David works. Kravis: Doctor at the institute. Wesley: Pianist in the 1940s.
Vera / Hatch:
CAST. 50s. Vera: Wealthy flower-shop customer. Hatch: Gossipy secretary.
