Max Bialystock:

Jewish. 40s-50s. Formerly successful Broadway producer. Now fleeces wealthy elderly women to support his failing business. Loud, pushy, fast-talking. Always one step ahead of getting caught “in the act.” New York-born and -bred, shrewd, intelligent and a dirty old man. Lead. Performer must be able to sing well (baritone/tenor up to G) and must be a world-class comic actor.

Leo Bloom:

Late 20s–40s. Timid, by-the-book accountant turned Broadway producer. Lived a monotonous and uneventful life until his “business venture” with Max. New York-born and -bred. Extremely likable loser who eventually comes into his own, and gets the girl. Lead. Must sing reasonably well (baritone/tenor, up to G) and must dance or at least move very well.

Franz Liebkind:

30s–40s. Author of “Springtime for Hitler”. Born and raised in Milwaukee (of German descent). Slightly deranged; under the delusional belief that he served under Hitler as a soldier of the Third Reich. Supporting. Role for a strong character/comedic actor. High baritone (up to F). Must move well.

Carmen Ghia:

Male, 20s–30s. Roger’s assistant. Excellent comedy required. High baritone/tenor (up to A-flat w/strong falsetto).

Roger DeBris:

40s–60s. The director who goes on to play Hitler in “Springtime for Hitler”. Former Broadway chorus dancer turned unsuccessful director/choreographer. Larger-than-life, flamboyant, self-involved and delusional, with a bent towards the grandiose. Must be played by a bold and comically gifted actor. High baritone (up to G). Must move well.

Ulla:

Swedish. Bombshell. Assistant to Bialystock and Bloom. Sexy, voluptuous, very attractive. Minimum height 5’10”. Seeking a comedic actress who can fake a Swedish accent. Great belt voice. Strong dance ability, including tap and splits.

HELLO, DOLLY! Score: Jerry Herman. Book: Michael Stewart. Dir: Casey Hushion. Choreo TBD. 1st reh: 4/25/11. Runs 5/7 – 5/15.

Mrs. Dolly Gallagher Levi:

Middle-aged. Widow, matchmaker, meddler, life-loving opportunist. Lead. Alto/soprano. Strong stage presence needed.

Horace Vandergelder:

Middle-aged to 60s. Widower. Wealthy feed store owner. Well-known. Gruff. Authoritative. Lead. Baritone.

Cornelius Hackl:

20s–30s. Vandergelder's head clerk. Adventurous, energetic, enthusiastic. Lead. Baritone. Strong dancer.

Barnaby Tucker:

18-late 20s. Cornelius’s timid assistant. Naïve but energized follower. Supporting. Baritone. Strong dancer.

Irene Molloy:

20s– 30s. Widow. Beautiful. Smart, fun-loving hat-shop owner. Supporting. Soprano. Strong dancer.

Minnie Fay:

18–late 20s. Irene’s straitlaced, naïve assistant. Supporting. Mezzo soprano. Strong dancer.

Ambrose Kemper:

18–30. Good-natured, struggling artist. Wants to marry Ermengarde. Supporting. Tenor. Strong dancer.

Ermengarde:

18-20s. Horace’s whining, high-strung niece. Wants to marry Ambrose. Supporting. Any vocal range. Strong dancer.

Ernestina:

40s-60s. Role for a character actress. Cameo.

Female character played by a man. Tracy’s mom. Large physique. Sincere and honest. Supporting. Role for a larger-than-life character actor with strong vocal, acting and comic ability. Tenor.

Link Larkin:

Male. Handsome heartthrob of the local TV teen dance show. Clean-cut and good-hearted high- schooler. Supporting. Pop baritone. Strong mover.

Corny Collins:

Male. TV show host. Supporting. Pop tenor. Strong mover.

Penny Pingleton:

Ditzy, neurotic high-schooler. Tracy's best friend. Supporting. Belt. Good mover.

Amber von Tussle:
