THE 39 STEPS, by Patrick Barlow

Production Description: It is a theatrical staging of the famous 1935 Alfred Hitchcock film that involves murder, intrigue, espionage, and romance. Set in 1935 London and Scotland, the style is not camp, but satire done in high style. A company of four play all of the roles. All roles are superb technicians who can create many different characters and utilize many different accents. This is a highly physical show.

Production Description: This production includes female identifying characters who are exceptionally adept with classical text & highly physical staging. All tracks play range of roles and sing acapella. No one needs to be a polished singer, but ideally all tracks can learn music and have confidence when using their singing voice.

Has access to the full emotional range of curiosity, rage, sorrow, and power, as well as a true capacity for both an unbridled ferocity and rigorous subtlety in the scene work.
Lady Macbeth Track: Female Identifying, 20s-50s, Any Ethnicity. Also MALCOLM, ROSS, FLEANCE, MURDERER, WITCH, and others. A future queen consumed by lust for power. A magnetic character who is capable of intense sincerity and unconditional love. She has a real wild streak, who has the kind of intense determination that is both enviable and intimidating.
