LEGALLY BLONDE

[ELLE WOODS] Female 20-25 (Gb2-G5 Pop Belt) – A Malibu socialite and fashionista extraordinaire. UCLA Homecoming Queen and Delta Nu President. An effervescent college-age girl who follows her ex-boyfriend to Harvard Law School and realizes that she has more than just a pretty face and a bubbly personality to offer the world. She is lovable, determined, vulnerable, energetic and outgoing. A true triple threat (tap dance skills are a plus).

[EMMETT FORREST] Male 20-30 (B2-A4 Tenor) – Professor Callahan’s teaching assistant. He is a smart, quirky, sensitive and personable. He ends up taking Elle under his wing and believes in her when it seems that no one else will. He always appears a bit scruffy, but his looks are his last concern. A strong singer with great comedic timing.

[PAULETTE BUONOFUONTE] Female 35-45 (A3-A5 Pop Belt) - Owner of Hair Affair, a local salon. She’s a bit of a bombshell, who happens to not see it herself and is therefore insecure. She is fashionable and curvaceous, but a little tacky, with hair and clothes that make “a statement”. Comfortable with dogs, willing to be kissed on stage. Strong comic timing and Bostonian accent is a plus.

[PROFESSOR CALLAHAN] Male 40-50 (A2-F#4 Baritone) - A pompous and manipulative Criminal Law professor at Harvard. Comfortable with a stage kiss, however awkward. Callahan is charismatic but is able to turn instantly into a conniving shark in a moment.

[WARNER HUNTINGTON III] Male 20-25 (Eb3-Ab4 Tenor) – Elle’s college boyfriend. Warner is attractive and charming but very self-absorbed. He will do whatever it takes to achieve his dream of becoming a senator by the time he’s 30, including breaking Elle’s heart.

[VIVIENNE KENSINGTON/OTHERS] Female 20-25 (A3-F5 High Pop Belt) – Warner’s new Blueblood girlfriend. Vivienne is an overachieving, stuck-up, wealthy, smart and savvy Harvard Law student who is intellectually driven. Yet she feels very threatened by Elle's presence at Harvard, but in the end becomes a great ally. A couple of other small roles.

[BROOKE WYNDHAM/OTHERS] Female 25-35 (A3-G5 Alto or Soprano) - Brooke is an exercise video star and former Delta Nu sorority girl who was accused of murder. Physically fit with strong to ability to do high level aerobics whilst singing. Also appears as a few supporting roles in the first act.

[PILAR/MARGOT/SERENA/OTHERS] Female, 20-25, (G#3-F5 Belt) – Sorority girls and Elle’s entourage and “Greek Chorus.” Ranging from sassy to cutesy, they’re boy crazy and fashion icons at UCLA. Strong singers, dancers, and have strong comedic timing.

[ENID HOOPS/KATE/CHUTNEY WYNDHAM/OTHERS] Female, 20-25, (G3-G5 Soprano Belt/Bb3 – Eb5 Alto) – Enid is strong, opinionated, ex-peace corps volunteer and proud law student at Harvard. Kate is the Delta Nu scholastic chair and bookworm. Chutney is “Brooke Wyndham’s” jealous step-daughter. All dance well.

[ELLE'S MOM/OTHERS] Female, 35-45 – Mom is a wealthy Malibu socialite. Other characters include Store manager, saleswoman and District Attorney. Multiple roles, sings, and moves extremely well.

[KYLE/DEWEY/GRAND MASTER CHAD/OTHERS] Male, 25-35, (D3 – G4 High Baritone) Kyle is a physically fit, smooth-talking UPS deliveryman and “Paulette's dream guy. Dewey is Paulette’s low-life ex. Multiple roles and a good dancer.

[ELLE’S DAD/WINTHROP/REPORTER/OTHERS] Male, 40-50, (D3 – G4 Baritone) – Dad is a high society golfer from Malibu. Other roles include the head of Harvard admission and the reporter. Multiple roles, sings, and moves extremely well.

[MALE ENSEMBLE] To play: Sundeep Padamadan, Aaron Schultz, Nikos Argitakos, Carlos and others. Male, 20-30, Ranging from smug, royal Harvard law students, self-proclaimed geniuses to fun-loving pool boys. Featured in The Harvard Variations. Excellent singers and dancers. Several other roles throughout the show. Acrobatics a plus.

LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS

[Seymour] Male 25-35 (Tenor) An orphan taken in by Mr. Mushnik, the owner of a Skid Row flower shop. Seymour is naïve, well-meaning, outspoken, shy, and awkward. He knows little about the out-side world. However, he exhibits a remarkable amount of strength when he discovers what he wants. Strong singer with excellent comic timing. Moves well.

[Audrey] Female 30-40 (Mezzo with a belt) Audrey is the love of Seymour’s life (though he’d never tell her). She is a perky, bleached-blonde florist clerk at the same Skid Row florist as Seymour. She’s not the sharpest knife in the drawer, nor is she the most self-confident, but she’s bright-eyed, bubbly and totally genuine. She knows what to say when someone’s having a bad day and she is all about the truth. Strong singer with excellent comic timing. Moves well.

[Mr. Mushnik] Male 45-60 y/o (Baritone) Mushnik is the owner of the Skid Row flower show, and boss to Audrey and Seymour. He seldom smiles and curses in Yiddish. He has lived a hard, lower-class life and is a true opportunist. A strong singer with excellent comic timing and a New York accent. Moves well.

[Orin (and others)] Male 30-40 y/o (Baritone) Tall, dark and handsome. A washed-up greaser with a voice keen for radio, but with the personality of an egotistical pretty boy with aggressive/abusive tendencies. He’s a dentist in a leather jacket. Several other small roles in the show. Strong actor and singer.

[Audrey II – The Plant Puppeteer] Think of a Venus Fly Trap. Now think of an Avocado. Think of these two combined, and that would be Audrey II. This creature is played by a series of 4 puppets which increase in size and mangled appearance, manipulated by a puppeteer hidden inside of plants 3 and 4. The plant puppeteer has no vocals when inside the plant, but requires someone who has superb physical acting skills who can portray character / emotion through movement and physical stamina when operating the large, weighted puppet. The actor also plays a few smaller rolls in the show prior to going inside the plant. Sings for the other roles.

[Audrey II Voice of The Plant] BIPOC Male or Female (male baritone or female belter) The voice of Audrey II is off-stage, lip-syncing to the movements of the puppet. Audrey II herself (the plant) is a street-smart, conniving villain with a funky R&B sound to their voice. Strong character singer.

[Crystal, Ronette and Chiffon] 3 BIPOC Females 18-30 y/o (Mezzo Sops/belters) These three characters are the only ones with any clue of what’s happening for the duration of the show. They are young, clever, trendy, and oftentimes know something that we don’t, and they make that very clear. Have occasional dialogue, and often sing in strong harmonies together as a trio. Strong singing and dancing capabilities.
