Prepare a brief contemporary musical theatre song showing range. Bring sheet music; a piano accompanist will be provided. Bring a photo/resume stapled together.

NOTE: “FLYING OVER SUNSET,” set in the 1950s, is a work of fiction inspired by the lives of three extraordinary and accomplished people—Aldous Huxley, Clare Booth Luce, and Cary Grant—each of whom in real life experimented with the drug LSD. At a crossroads in their lives the three come together, and under the influence of the drug, take a trip and confront the mysteries of their lives and their world.

[ALDOUS HUXLEY] Male, any ethnicity, 40s. The esteemed English intellectual and philosopher. Baritone. PRINCIPAL – CAST: Harry Hadden-Paton

[CLARE BOOTH LUCE] Female, any ethnicity, 40s. Playwright, congresswoman, and socialite. Mezzo/Belter. PRINCIPAL – CAST: Carmen Cusack

[CARY GRANT] Male, any ethnicity, 40s. The famed movie star. Must be an outstanding tap dancer. Bari/Tenor. PRINCIPAL – CAST: Tony Yazbeck

[MARIA HUXLEY] Female, any ethnicity, 40s. Aldous’ wife. Must be good with accents. Strong dancer. Mezzo. PRINCIPAL – CAST
