Friday, March 16, 2012 Pearl Studios NYC “519”

10 AM – Equity male singers who move. 519 Eighth Avenue, 12th Floor

2 PM – Equity female singers who move. New York City

Please prepare 16 bars (golden age of musical theatre, e.g. Berlin, Porter, Loesser, Styne, possibly Webber; no rock). Show vocal range. Songs from the season are fine but not required. 2nd 16 bars may be requested. Bring sheet music in the correct key. Accompanist is provided, but may not transpose. Some may be asked to stay and dance after all have sung. Bring comfortable dance clothes.

Please bring a photo and resume, stapled back-to-back. Resume should include cell or service #. E-mail address is helpful.

Ensemble characters include Bum, Jack, Donald, Jason, Ticket-Taker, Gunter, Stalin, Churchill, Guard, Jury Forman, Judge, Prison Trustee, Little Old Ladies, Accountants, Roger’s Team (Bryan, Kevin, Scott, Sabu, Shirley), Policeman, Construction Worker, Sailor, Indian Chief, First Nighters, Workmen, Street Cleaners, Pigeons, Nuns, Helios, Stormtroopers, Cops, Convicts, Girl Prisoners, Bag Lady, Chorus Girls, Usherettes.

THE KING AND I Music: Richard Rodgers. Book/Lyrics: Oscar Hammerstein II. Dir: Baayork Lee. Choreo: Susan Kikuchi. Mus Dir TBD. 1st reh: 8/16. Rehearses in NYC. Runs 8/28-9/2 in Vienna VA and 9/5-11 in Atlanta.

Ensemble characters include The Interpreter, Phra Alack, Royal Dancers, Priests, Royal Wives.

WHITE CHRISTMAS Score: Irving Berlin. Book: David Ives and Paul Blake. Dir: Norb Joerder. Choreo: Randy Skinner. Mus Dir TBD. 1st reh: 10/17. Runs 11/6/12 – 1/6/13.

Characters are early 20s – mid 30s. Performers should be equally strong in ballroom, theater jazz and tap. 1940s Hollywood movie musical dancing. ALL SING VERY WELL. Covers will come from ensemble. Ensemble plays "Jimmy's Back Room" Club-Goers, Train Passengers, Inn Guests, Chorus Kids, Patrons of The Regency Room. Ensemble characters include Jimmy, Snoring Man, Train Conductor, Dance Captain, Ed Sullivan Announcer, Regency Room Announcer (Voice), Tessie, Cigarette Girl, Mrs. Snoring Man, Seamstress, Asst. Seamstress, Sheldrake's Secretary (Voice).

Ensemble characters also include

Rita and Rhoda: Mid 20s - early 30s. Bob and Phil's two star chorus girls. Brash, sexy, and fun, although perhaps not the smartest.
