MALE 1
In THE CRUCIBLE: [REV. SAMUEL PARRIS]: Male, 40s. Salem's current minister. A faction in his congregation is attempting to replace him. He at first attempts to silence rumors of witchcraft because his own daughter, Betty, and his niece, Abigail Williams, were involved in conjuring rites. However, he later vigorously supports the witch trials when he sees that they will work to his advantage.
In A DOLL’S HOUSE 2: [TORVALD]: Male, late 50s. Nora’s estranged husband; mild-mannered, keeps his feelings and emotions close to himself, though he has many.

MALE 2
In THE CRUCIBLE: [THOMAS PUTNAM]: Male, 40s. Wealthy husband of Anne Putnam who uses the witchcraft frenzy implicate rivals and enemies.
In CAKE: [TIM]: White, male, 50s-60s. Della’s husband, a good ol’ boy. A Conservative. He is having trouble with his wife in the bedroom.

MALE 3
In THE CRUCIBLE: [JOHN PROCTOR]: Male, 30s. Honest farmer forced to defend his wife and himself against witchcraft charges. While his wife was ill, he succumbed to temptation and was intimate with Abigail Williams.
In NOISES OFF: [LLOYD DALLAS]: Male. 50s. The director of Nothing On; authoritative, temperamental, harried, and sharp-tongued; involved in a love triangle that complicates both his work and personal life.

MALE 4
In THE CRUCIBLE: [GILES COREY]: Male, 70s. Innocent citizen accused of witchcraft after he attempts to defend his wife, Martha, and expose scheming John Putnam. A courageous man who defies the court, he is pressed to death with heavy stones
In SWEAT: [BRUCIE]: 40s. African American. Cynthia's ex-husband, and Chris's father. He used to work on the line but too much time striking and being unemployed as sent him towards drug addiction. A heroin addict, a dreamer, smooth talking charmer, whose looks are his primary currency. He believes what he’s saying in the moment, even if it is bullshit

MALE 5
In THE CRUCIBLE: [REV. JOHN HALE]: Male, late 20s/early 30s. Expert in detecting spirits. Well educated, he takes pride in his knowledge of the occult, but he is fair-minded. Although he first believes townspeople may be practicing witchcraft, he later defends accused persons, in particular Mr. and Mrs. Proctor.
In SWEAT: [CHRIS]: 21/29. African American. Cynthia and Brucie's son, Jason’s best friend; muscular, charismatic, youthful, warm; a steel worker, with aspirations to educate himself and find a life beyond the steel plant; eventually hardened into a disillusioned ex-con; he turns to religion to help him fight his darkness within.

MALE 6
In THE CRUCIBLE: [FRANCIS NURSE]: Male, 70s. A wealthy influential man in Salem. Nurse is well respected by most people in Salem, but is an enemy of Thomas Putnam and his wife. He is a good man and a good husband who has the courage to stand up to the court to try and save his wife, Rebecca.
In NOISES OFF: [SELSDON MOWBRAY]: Male. 60s-70s. An actor, alcoholic, and hard of hearing when it suits him. Rarely available when needed. Plays the part of “Burglar” in Nothing On.

MALE 7
In THE CRUCIBLE: [GOV. DANFORTH]: Male 50s. Presiding Judge who conducts the witchcraft hearings and trials.
In SWEAT: [STAN]: 50s. White American. Old steel guy on disability, Warm and brotherly, a genuine listener. There is an edge of bitterness that is always lurking just beneath the surface. He is the guy who didn’t get out

MALE 8
In SWEAT: [OSCAR]: 20s. Colombian-American. A busboy at the local bar; he keeps to himself, always conscious that in this community of the disenfranchised and powerless he is at the bottom of the heap; when the steel plant locks out the workers, Oscar is willing to risk everything to cross the picket lines and seize the opportunity to better his life; although he was born in Berks County, he is still considered an outsider.

FEMALE 1
In THE CRUCIBLE: [ABIGAIL WILLIAMS]: Female 20s, to play 17. lives with her uncle, the Rev. Parris, and his daughter, Betty. In a conjuring rite in the forest, where Abigail and other girls dance wildly around a cauldron, Abigail drinks rooster blood in attempt to summon spirits to kill Elizabeth Proctor. Mrs. Proctor had fired Abigail from her job as a servant at the Proctor farm because Abigail seduced her husband.
In THE CAKE: [JEN]. White, female, early 30s. Has dreamt of her wedding day her whole life and has the wedding binder to prove it.

FEMALE 2
In THE CRUCIBLE: [TITUBA]: Female, 40s. Slave of the Rev. Parris. The minister brought her to Salem from Barbados, where she learned occult practices. She presides at a conjuring session involving teenage and adolescent girls from Salem.
In SWEAT: [CYNTHIA]: 45/53. African American. Chris's mother, and Brucie's ex-wife. A steel worker; started at the plant as a teenager, she and Tracey have been best friends ever since, and have given their lives to the line; focused, ambitious and sturdy; despite the derision of her colleagues, she applies for a promotion and finally escapes the line and becomes a floor manager; Cynthia’s loyalty to her colleagues and friends is tested when the closing of the plant is announced; ultimately she can’t save them or herself.

FEMALE 3
In THE CRUCIBLE: [ELIZABETH PROCTOR]: Female, 30s. John Proctor’s loyal and upright wife. She comes to realize that she may have been partly at fault for her husband's unfaithfulness because she was not always as warm and loving as she could have been.
In CAKE: [JEN]. White, female, early 30s. Has dreamt of her wedding day her whole life and has the wedding binder to prove it.

FEMALE 4
In THE CRUCIBLE: [ANNE PUTNAM]: Female, 40s. Wealthy wife of Tomas Putnam who uses the witchcraft frenzy implicate rivals and enemies.
In SWEAT: [TRACEY]: 40s/50s. White American. Jason's mother. She and Cynthia have been best friends ever since, and have given their lives to the line; A steel worker and true company loyalist. Funny, brassy, bossy, opinionated and fiercely loyal; as her life begins to spiral out of control she can no longer manage the cocktail of disillusionment and anger that simmers below her surface.

FEMALE 5
In THE CRUCIBLE: [REBECCA NURSE]: Female, 60s. Charitable Salem resident whom Ann Putnam accuses of witchcraft.
In A DOLL’S HOUSE 2: [ANNE MARIE]: Female, 65-75. The Helmer’s nanny; honest, blunt, and big-hearted.
Or In NOISES OFF: [DOTTIE OTTLEY]: Female 50’s. Forgetful. Dating Garry, though she attempts to make him jealous by meeting with Freddy. Plays the part of “Mrs. Clacket” A Cockney Housekeeper in Nothing On.

In A DOLL’S HOUSE 2: [NORA]: Female, 50s. Independent, intelligent, and a very successful author.
In NOISES OFF: [BELINDA BLAIR]: Female. 40s. An actress. Sensible, reliable, but a bit of a gossip. Thinks of herself as the glue that holds the company together. Plays the part of “Flavia Brent” in Nothing On.

FEMALE 7
In A DOLL’S HOUSE 2: [ANNE MARIE]: Female, 65-75. The Helmer’s nanny; honest, blunt, and big-hearted. Or [DOTTIE OTTLEY]: Female 50’s. Forgetful. Dating Garry, though she attempts to make him jealous by meeting with Freddy. Plays the part of “Mrs. Clacket” A Cockney Housekeeper in Nothing On.
