Kubasonics, described as Newfoundland's finest Ukrainian band, brings their high-energy stage show to Arts Hub Ortona as part of the Alberta Council for the Ukrainian Arts' Ukrainian Music on the Prairies exhibit. The award-winning group blends top-flight musicianship with traditional Eastern European dance grooves, a wide array of exotic instruments, and a signature style of speed-folk. Their seven albums have earned 12 JUNO, East Coast Music Association, and MusicNL Award nominations, with four wins, and they have performed across Canada and internationally. This evening performance is co-presented by The Dmytruk Capital Fund at Edmonton Community Foundation, Friends of the Ukrainian Folklore Centre, and Alberta Council for the Ukrainian Arts.
