Festival Players Present SINGIN' IN THE RAIN
Festival Players celebrate their 16th year of outstanding theatre over the Christmas season with the beloved classic, Singin' in the Rain, December 15 - 30, at Festival Place.
The "Greatest Movie Musical of All Time" is faithfully and lovingly adapted by Broadway legends, Betty Comden and Adolph Green, from their original award-winning screenplay in Singin' in the Rain. Each unforgettable scene, song and dance is accounted for, including the show-stopping title number, complete with an onstage rainstorm! Hilarious situations, snappy dialogue and a hit-parade score of Hollywood standards make Singin' in the Rain the perfect entertainment for any fan of the golden age of movie musicals.
Festival Players previous Christmas productions include West Side Story, Mary Poppins, Anne of Green Gables and last year's Fiddler on the Roof. Singing' in the Rainfeatures a cast of 20, a pit orchestra of 15, an engaging new set and costumes all by local singers, actors, dancers, musicians, designers and crew.
Festival Place continues to be Alberta's #1 Presenter of Professional Artists. The 2017/2018 season showcased an eclectic mix of over 80 incredibly talented performers. The 2018/2019 season carries on the same ambitious standard of entertainment, with over 50 performances already scheduled between September 2018 and April 2019, with new shows added throughout the year.
