The Des Moines Playhouse Presents CINDERELLA, 11/13

The Des Moines Playhouse presents "Cinderella," Friday, November 13th. This story is part of the 2009-10 season of Friday Funday, a creative participatory story theatre program for children ages 4-6. Performances are at The Playhouse, Friday, Nov. 13, at 9:30 and 10:30 AM, and 1:30 PM. Admission is $5 per person, adults and children. November's featured story is "Cinderella." Cinderella wants to go to the ball to meet the prince, but her stepmother and stepsisters have other ideas. Maybe a silly fairy godmother will be able to help!

Each month from September-May, the Clubhouse at The Playhouse Gang will dramatize a favorite story using their imaginations and the costume pieces and props they find in their magic trunk. Audience members learn the Clubhouse pledge and secret handshake, and listen for the word of the day. They even help act out the story. Shows are approximately 45 minutes in length.

The 2009-10 season features a variety of stories, including "The Elves and the Shoemaker," Dec. 18; "The Three Little Pigs," Jan. 15; "The Mitten," Feb. 12; "Fin McCoul," Mar. 5; "Stone Soup," Apr. 9; and "Caps for Sale," May 14.

The Playhouse is Iowa's oldest and largest producing theatre. Located at the 42nd Street exit of I-235, the theatre has presented a full season of shows since 1919 and also offers a wide variety of educational experiences including classes for ages 4 to adult, theatre trips to New York, and volunteer opportunities onstage and backstage.
