Repertory Theater of Iowa to Hold Auditions for Shakespeare and 2010-11 Season

Auditions will be held by the Repertory Theater of Iowa for The Merry Wives of Windsor (co-produced with Salisbury House & Gardens for their "Shakespeare on the Lawn" series), as well as for RTI's 2010-2011 season of plays (to be announced).

Auditions will be held by appointment on Saturday, April 10 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm and Sunday, April 11 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Des Moines Social Club, 1408 Locust Street (just west of downtown Des Moines across from the Pappajohn Sculpture Park). All types, ages 14 and up, will be seen.

Auditionees should contact the production stage manager Martina Alaniz by calling 515.865.0291 or emailing martina.alaniz@rtiowa.com and requesting a preferred ten-minute audition time. Auditionees will receive a return call with confirmed audition time. Auditionees should be prepared to perform a 1-2 minute contemporary monologue and to cold-read from the Merry Wives script. Professional headshots are strongly encouraged, but any current photograph will suffice.

The Repertory Theater of Iowa is quickly becoming established as central Iowa's premier professional theater company, having presented popular and critically lauded productions of Twelfth Night, A Christmas Carol, The Trip to Bountiful, All My Sons and Endgame. All actors are paid. It is important to note that these auditions are for specific productions only, and not for company membership.
