"Sister Act" is the musical comedy smash that has audiences jumping to their feet!

When disco diva Deloris Van Cartier (Alexandra St. James-Gray) witnesses a murder, she is put in protective custody in one place the cops are sure she won't be a found: a convent. Disguised as a nun, she finds herself at odds with both the rigid lifestyle and uptight Mother Superior (Jennifer Phelps). Using her unique disco moves and singing talent to inspire the choir, Deloris breathes new life into the church and community but in doing so, blows her cover. Soon, the gang members give chase only to find themselves up against Deloris and the power of her newly found sisterhood.

Filled with powerful gospel music, outrageous dancing and a truly moving story, "Sister Act" will leave Playhouse audiences breathless. A sparkling tribute to the universal power of friendship, "Sister Act" is reason to rejoice!

The Playhouse cast is directed by Judy Hart, with musical direction by Anna Lackaff and choreography by Alison Shafer. The cast includes Tricia Arvanis, Edward M. Barker, Douglas Cochrane, Jennie Coletta, Jill Curry, Jason Ehlenfeldt, Kate FItzgerald, Bart Galvin, Charissa L. Hamel, Melissa Kellar, Sarah Elizabeth Kelly, Donovan McCamey, Rachel Elizabeth Meyer, Mitchell Nieland, Dakota Rachuy, Therese Riordan, Farica L. Robertson, Christopher Rozenboom, Gary Scherer, and Tony Tandeski.

Located at the 42nd Street exit of I-235, the theatre has presented a full season of shows since 1919 and also offers a wide variety of educational experiences including classes for ages 4 to adult, theatre trips to New York, and volunteer opportunities onstage and backstage.
