The Civic Center of Greater Des Moines announced today that Max Wellman and Roxi Copland will make their Temple Theater debut with a new original blend of jazz and pop in MAX & ROXI: LIVE @ THE TEMPLE THEATER. Sure to be one of Des Moines' premier music events of the summer, Max and Roxi will appear in just five performances July 22-23 and July 29-31.

Copland's unique genre is probably best described in the words of one particularly eloquent reviewer as "a possibly schizophrenic but absolutely brilliant concoction of jazz, pop and soul." We're not quite sure if she's more aptly described as "Norah Jones with bite" or "Amy Winehouse sober." Either way, this talented singer/songwriter/pianist won't disappoint. In addition to her own tours, Copland has opened for a number of prominent national and international acts, including most recently pop sensation Vanessa Carlton, jazz virtuoso Jason Lindner, the Mingus Dynasty Band, and the a cappella powerhouse the Manhattan Transfer.
