Following last year's super-successful BUFFY LIVES! A TRIBUTE TO BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER, the one and only Megan Gogerty takes the stage for this one-of-a-kind musical tribute to Joss Whedon's epic sci-fi/western TV series FIREFLY. This short-lived TV show spawned legions of diehard fans for its wit and pathos, and now those fans can come to the Englert to celebrate their love with their fellow 'browncoats.'
Audience members will rock along to Firefly-themed songs performed by Megan Gogerty and the Browncoats, participate in a trivia contest, and then watch the movie SERENITY, starring Nathan Fillion. Sponsored by Daydreams Comics.
Prizes for the trivia contest include Firefly-themed PVC sets, a Dr. Horrible t-shirt, and a GRAND PRIZE of a Dark Horse poster autographed by Joss Whedon AND Mike Mignola. (Joss Whedon is the creator of Firefly and Buffy, and Mignola is the creator of Hellboy.)
Here is a sample lyric from one of the original tribute songs:
"This here is an elegy for our dearly departed
It was a TV show in twenty-aught-two and that's how it started
Fourteen beautiful episodes before it got canceled
It got canceled because network executives
Are dumb (dum, dum de dum)"
