DM Playhouse Presents RAPUNZEL, 4/13

The Des Moines Community Playhouse presents "Rapunzel," Friday, Apr. 13. This story is the latest in the 2011-12 season of Friday Funday, a creative participatory story theatre program for children ages 4-6. Performances are at The Playhouse, Friday, Apr. 13 at 9:30 and 10:30 AM, and 1:30 PM. Shows are approximately 45 minutes in length. Admission is $5 per person, adults and children. April's featured story is "Rapunzel." Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your... chair? At least, that's what Rapunzel heard way up at the top of her tower.

Join the Clubhouse at The Playhouse Gang each month, October-June, as they dramatize a favorite story using their imaginations and the costume pieces and props they find in their magic trunk. Audience members learn the Clubhouse pledge and secret handshake, and listen for the word of the day. They even help act out the story.

The final performances in the 2011-12 series are "The Brementown Musicians," May 18, and a special Friday Funday event, "Pinkalicious," June 7-9.

The Playhouse is Iowa's oldest and largest producing theatre. Located at the 42nd Street exit of I-235, the theatre has presented a full season of shows since 1919 and also offers a wide variety of educational experiences including classes for ages 4 to adult, theatre trips to New York, and volunteer opportunities onstage and backstage.
