Des Moines Community Playhouse Presents THE MUSICAL ADVENTURES OF FLAT STANLEY, Now thru 5/20
The Des Moines Community Playhouse Kate Goldman Children's Theatre presents the family show "The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley," today, May 4 through May 20. Tickets may be purchased online at dmplayhouse.com, by phone at 515-277-6261, and at The Playhouse ticket office, 831 42nd St. "The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley" is sponsored by First Class Credit Union.
Stanley Lambchop is your ordinary, everyday, normal 10-year-old, with a normal mom, normal dad, and a normal little brother. All in all, a normal life. For Stanley, this is a problem; life is too normal! He wants to travel the world, do something amazing, something no one's ever seen before. One night, the bulletin board on the wall above Stanley's bed comes loose and falls. Right on top of Stanley! And the next morning, Stanley wakes up flat. Not just a little flat...really, REALLY flat! In hopes that he will become a 3D boy again, Stanley puts himself in a big envelope and travels the world, as a human letter. And the adventure begins!
"The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley" is based on the book by JefF Brown. The cast features Connor Bredbeck as Stanley. Cast members include Anne Arthur Frett, Michael Howland, Elsa Klein, Deanna Kuhns, Larry Mahlstedt, and Roan Withers. The Playhouse production is directed by Ron Ziegler, with musical direction by Brenton Brown and choreography by Alison Shafer.
The Playhouse is Iowa's oldest and largest producing theatre. Located at the 42nd Street exit of I-235, the theatre has presented a full season of shows since 1919 and also offers a wide variety of educational experiences including classes for ages 4 to adult, theatre trips to New York, and volunteer opportunities onstage and backstage.
