Brief description:
A severe electrical storm seemingly transports Danny from his bed in a motel in Texas to the sofa in the living room of college friends Tom and Leslie. Is this a divine miracle? Leslie thinks God is reaching out to Danny, who is gay. Tom believes homosexuality is a choice and has chosen God over his sexual orientation. Should you have to? WARNING: brief nudity, adult language and themes.

Tom and Danny were lovers and roommates in college for three years, until Tom decided to choose God over Danny, to choose God over his own sexual orientation. He went on to marry Leslie and has been "in recovery" for 13 years. Fifteen years later Danny finds himself naked, on their sofa, during an electrical storm. He is still gay and a professed "gaytheist". Leslie firmly believes God is reaching out to Danny; that this miracle is for him. Tom is not so sure at first, and believes there may be other reasons behind the miracle. Danny just wants to get home. This play opened at the Orlando Fringe Festival in 2007 and was an instant hit and instigated lots of conversation and debate. We are hoping for the same here in Denver. This play raises so many questions, the answers of which are just not crystal clear. Can a homosexual follow a 12 step program? Can you really consider homosexuality to be like an addiction where you are in "recovery"? One of my favorite lines in the play, said by Tom to Danny about Christians vs. gays, is "the Bible doesn't say God doesn't hate anyone".
