Possum Point Players Explain HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING
For all who wonder how to advance a career from window washing and mail sorting to chairman of the board, Possum Point Players present the award-winning musical comedy, "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying." Show dates are April 5, 6, 7, 12, 13 and 14; Friday and Saturday shows are at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday matinees are at 2 p.m. Tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for students and seniors, and may be purchased at www.possumpointplayers.org or the ticketline, 856-4560.
A winner of a Tony Award and a Pulitzer Prize, "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying" is a satirical, but good natured, jab at life up and down the corporate ladder. The music and lyrics of Frank Loesser and Abe Burrows is featured in a lilting score that includes "I Believe in You," "The Company Way" and "The Brotherhood of Man." Written in an era when big business was a man's world, the script also features secretaries who irreverently see through some of the gamesmanship that makes big wheels look like they really turn.
