Victoria Theatre Sets NIVERSAL 1 CREDIT UNION VIC150 MUSIC SERIES
Victoria Theatre Association announces the UNIVERSAL 1 CREDIT UNION VIC150 MUSIC SERIES, a part of the Victoria Theatre 150th anniversary celebration. The Series hosts three nights of music in 2016 beginning with the rock genre and featuring local bands BUFFALO KILLERS, MOTEL BEDS and GOOD ENGLISH on Saturday, May 7 2016 at 8 p.m. October 2016 brings bluegrass and funk to the Victoria stage. Music is back at Dayton's oldest spot for music and theatre! Now known primarily for theatre, the Victoria Theatre hosted its share of concerts back in the day. From classical to rock 'n' roll, jazz to bluegrass, the theatre at the corner of First and Main was known for some pretty sweet acoustics.
"So we seized the opportunity to celebrate the Victoria's 150th Anniversary and the variety of the musical styles that have played the Victoria over the years, plus highlight our local musicians at the same time," says Ken Neufeld, President & CEO of Victoria Theatre Association. "A team of staff members have pulled this new VIC150 Music Series together. We have rock, funk and bluegrass events which are three of the styles of music that are really rich in heritage for Dayton and the Miami Valley. I'm really excited about it."
The three-concert series starts this spring and continues next fall:
