Victoria Theatre Association proudly announces the PNC Family Series presentation of Mooseltoe the Moosical, with book and lyrics written by Dayton native Jim Semmelman. Mooseltoe the Moosical will run December 4 and 5 at 1pm and 3:30pm at the historic Victoria Theatre.
Jim Semmelman, native Daytonian and University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music alum, dreamed up a moose with a dream. Mooseltoe and his friends come to life in this colorful, magical and whimsical musical tale. Audiences will follow our hero as he pursues his seemingly impossible dream to learn the secret of flight, meeting many interesting characters on his journey and learning many important lessons along the way - lessons which are important to everyone.

Semmelman, now a stage manager for NBC's popular "Today Show", created a sparkling production with 17 unforgettable costumed characters which include three snobby penguins, an Edward G. Robin-esque snowman and a walrus named Willy, not to mention Santa and his two elves. With a recorded score by George Kramer, narration by Al Roker (NBC's "Today Show") and character voices by John Cullum, Christopher Plummer and Carole Shelley and others, Mooseltoe is the perfect vehicle for grandparents and parents to introduce children to live theatre.

With an enchanting set designed by New York designer Kelly Tighe, Mooseltoe the Moosical will evoke the captivating and magical world that Mooseltoe and his friends inhabit. Broadway costume designers Randy Carfagno and Vito Leanza have designed 17 larger than life costumes for Mooseltoe. Nine original and melodic songs accompany this hour-long odyssey of self-discovery. Just like the audiences who saw the very first performance of this delightful production during its first tour, children and adults alike will embrace and cheer for our lovable hero, Mooseltoe.

For 25 years, Victoria Theatre Association has presented quality, entertaining programs complete with pre-performance craft activities and study guides (available online) for each production. Tailored to children ages 4-12 and their families, the PNC Family Series is the largest and oldest performing arts series for children in the Miami Valley.

Don't miss out on fun craft activities beginning one hour before each performance on both Saturday and Sunday. Kids and adults can create Mooseltoe bookmark for their favorite book!

Tickets for Mooseltoe the Moosical are priced at a family-friendly $20 for adults and $18 for children (ages 12 and under). Tickets are on sale now through Ticket Center Stage, and may be purchased at the Schuster Center box office in downtown Dayton or by phone, at (937) 228-3630 or toll free (888) 228-3630.
