Inwood Performing Arts Co

The Inwood Performing Arts Company (IPAC) is at 2297 Henshaw Road, Inwood, West Virginia, and was established in 1982 by founders Denna Smith (RAD), its artistic director, and Winston Smith (AISTD), its managing director. It runs a Dance Department and a Music Department, with the stated aim of letting students study different performing arts and see how they interact. Instructors monitor and evaluate each student's progress individually. Every student is given the chance to perform: the Music Department presents seasonal concerts and guest performances through the year, while the Dance Department, with the Inwood Dance Company, stages The Nutcracker each holiday season and a three-day spring performance at Musselman High School Auditorium. Company repertoire includes The Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Coppelia, Snow White, Swan Lake and La Fille Mal Gardee. Advanced students may audition for the Inwood Dance Company, which is a member of Regional Dance America and travels to festivals and seminars. Guest artists have included Lupe Serrano, Roni Mahler, Jurgen Schneider, Luba Gulyaeva and James Kelly.
