Heartland Dance Studio

Heartland Academy of Dance & Theatrics is a studio at 234 SW L Street in Grants Pass, Oregon, run by co-owners Laurel Kehoe, a National Academy of Sports Medicine certified personal trainer who has danced for over thirty years and taught for more than twenty, and Brent Kehoe, who holds a BFA in dance education and is a certified American Ballet Theatre instructor for pre-primary to Level 3. The academy builds each class toward its fairytale-themed recitals, past productions including The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, Pinocchio and Sleeping Beauty, staged at the Grants Pass High School Performing Arts Center. Classes run a September to June season with a separate summer session in August, and are grouped by age: creative movement for ages 3-5, beginning classes for ages 6-7, levels 1 and 2 for ages 8 and up, an adult and teen track, and upper levels covering intermediate, pre-advanced, youth advanced, youth leadership, pre-pointe, pointe, advanced modern, pas de deux and men's technique. The studio also offers financial assistance so that cost is not a barrier, and rents its venue and mini theatre.
